From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, demons, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
